If you want to see vivid blue lakes and gorgeous mountain ranges, I recommend visiting Banff National Park. This was our last major stop of our cross-country cross-continent road trip. Road Trip Part IV: Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park was one of my favorite stops during our road trip. Located in northern Montana just below the Canadian border, Glacier National Park has 25 active glaciers, several glacially-carved lakes, and one scenic byway through the park: Going-to-the-Sun road. We entered through the west entrance of the park at West Glacier, checked into our hotel room at Apgar Village, then without delay started our drive up Going-to-the-Sun road.

Road Trip Part III: Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone is an overwhelmingly huge National Park. We allocated two days to explore the park, but we could easily spend a week there. Yellowstone is also a very popular tourist destination. Along the main roads you can easily be stuck behind a backup of coach buses, or stuck in a crowd at an Old Faithful eruption. My tip is, don’t let the crowds get to you and enjoy the beauty that is the first National Park in the country.

Road Trip Part II: South Dakota

This day was probably the longest, most activity-filled day Sam, Halie and I had in the entire road trip. We woke up in a motel room in Wall, South Dakota. The night before we spent 12 hours driving (each of us drove 4 hours) from our last stop in Chicago. After a few cups of motel coffee, we were on our way.
